What it is

About E-PVC

Emulsion PVC — written ER-PVC or E-PVC, and also called paste resin or dispersion resin — is produced by emulsion polymerisation. The process gives a very fine, non-porous particle far smaller than suspension PVC.

Because of that fine particle size, E-PVC does not absorb plasticiser at room temperature. Instead it disperses in it to form a liquid paste known as a plastisol. The plastisol is applied by dipping, spreading, coating, rotational moulding or screen printing, then fused with heat to form the finished PVC layer.

This is what makes E-PVC different in use from S-PVC. Suspension resin is compounded and extruded or moulded as a solid. Emulsion resin is processed as a liquid and then cured.

Grade selection depends on the process. Paste viscosity, particle size distribution and gelation behaviour all change how the plastisol handles on a dipping line, a coating head or a printing screen.

Product range

Available SIAMVIC® ER-PVC grades

Dunhill Corporation Ltd. supplies a comprehensive range of AGC Vinythai ER-PVC grades, including:

GRADE

SIAMVIC® 372LD

GRADE

SIAMVIC® 360NA

Technical data sheet available on request.

Each grade is designed to meet specific processing and end-use requirements, helping manufacturers achieve excellent productivity and product quality. Tell us the grade you run now and your process, and we will match it.

Optional: add a paste viscosity and recommended-process column to each grade once you have the figures from the AGC Vinythai Technical Data Sheet. Do not publish any figure that is not on the official TDS.

Common questions

E-PVC enquiries

What is the difference between E-PVC and S-PVC?

Emulsion PVC has a much finer particle size and is processed as a liquid paste, or plastisol, by dipping, coating, spreading or rotational moulding. Suspension PVC has a larger porous particle, absorbs plasticiser directly, and is compounded then extruded, calendered or injection moulded as a solid.

What is a plastisol?

A plastisol is E-PVC resin dispersed in liquid plasticiser, together with stabilisers, fillers and pigments. It stays liquid at room temperature and fuses into solid PVC when heated.

Which grade should I order?

It depends on the process. A glove dipping line, a leather cloth coating head and a screen printing ink each need different paste viscosity and gelation behaviour. Send us your application and we will recommend the grade.

Can I get a sample before a bulk order?

Yes, on most grades. We can arrange a trial quantity so your lab can test the plastisol on your own formulation and line.

How should E-PVC be stored?

In a cool, dry place, bags sealed and off the floor. Paste resin picks up moisture, and damp resin causes problems with paste viscosity and surface finish.

Do you supply COA and SDS?

Yes, with every consignment, along with the Certificate of Origin and the manufacturer’s Technical Data Sheet.
